Bluefish Travel Baseball brings the fun of baseball to promising young athletes in the central city of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Here in the “Park City,” one in five people lives below the poverty line. Our aim is to open doors of opportunity for talented young people from our city’s economically distressed neighborhoods, sparking a lifelong love of baseball while helping them unleash their true potential as athletes and leaders. Recognizing the amount of undiscovered talent bursting from Bridgeport’s under served neighborhoods, founder and president Pedro Gonzalez saw a chance to tap into that potential by developing an affordable youth baseball program dedicated to the success, growth, and leadership development of Bridgeport’s youth. Pedro understands first-hand how challenging it can be growing up in Bridgeport while trying to pursue a dream. His goal is to make sure our youth steer away from mistakes and bad choices and toward positive actions and activities that keep them on the right track. At Bluefish Travel Baseball, we do more than teach boys from early youth through their college years the art of amazing baseball. We guide them to become great men leading the way in their community. We also have fun! We care about mastering baseball and winning games as we build future leaders, but we want them to experience the joy, freedom, and fun of the game. Win or lose, we aim for our players to walk away having made amazing friends and incredible memories to last a lifetime as they prepare to become the best version of themselves.
